DESIGNER LISA GRAVES JOINS PARCAI DESIGNS

Parcai Designs is excited to announce the addition of artist Lisa Graves to their agency. As a little girl, Lisa Graves would sit on the floor of her father's sign shop, dreaming that her sketches would come to life. One could say she realized that dream with a design career that propelled her from that floor to the high-rises of Manhattan. In 2005, Lisa established Lisa Graves Design, and realized dreams for clients coast to coast.

Lisa loves studying (and drawing) history and going out on school visits to meet with aspiring young authors and illustrators. She lives in Medway, MA with 2 very messy children and her dog, (King) Henry.

You can find more details about Lisa and her work at www.ParcaiDesigns.com.

ARTIST NATALIE SORRENTINO JOINS PARCAI DESIGNS

Parcai Designs is excited to announce the addition of artist Natalie Sorrentino to their agency.

Natalie Sorrentino was given her first watercolor set from her Godfather Jack at the age of three and she hasn't separated from her medium ever since. In 2004, she graduated from Alverno College with a degree in Art Therapy. Over the years, she has been fortunate to experience different environments with a variety of populations. Whether making art with her clients or creating personal works, commissioned pieces or greeting cards, Natalie is deeply drawn into the stories that the human experience tell. She wholeheartedly believes that every individual is their own narrator eagerly awaiting to weave their personal tale. Natalie's quirky watercolors give us a peak into the window of her story; one shaped by family, friends, great conversation, fantastic growth... and maybe even a little sprinkle of her father, writer John D. Haefele's, adoration of the weird world of H.P. Lovecraft.

You can find more details about Natalie and her work at www.ParcaiDesigns.com.

ACCOMPLISHED ILLUSTRATOR PHIL MARDEN NOW REPRESENTED BY PARCAI DESIGNS

Parcai Designs is excited to announce the addition of accomplished illustrator, Phil Marden to their agency.

Phil Marden began life in the Chicago area where he was into baseball and coloring. He went on to study Animal Behavior, all the while filling sketch pad after sketch pad with his cartoon images. After college, he moved to New York City where he worked as a layout artist and graphic designer while honing his skills as an illustrator, eventually getting illustration gigs for dozens of publications, books and advertising as well as designing animated characters and backgrounds for commercials, TV shows and movies, including the remake of The Stepford Wives.  Phil illustrated regular columns in THE NEW YORK TIMES, THE BOSTON GLOBE, SPY MAGAZINE, SELF, GOLF FOR WOMEN and RADAR and one of the commercials he designed appeared in MOMA's retrospective of the animation studio, The Ink Tank.

Phil's work is influenced by mid-century design and classic illustrators like William Steig and Otto Soglow.  He's always had a keen interest in product design and has been an avid collector of decorated objects from flea markets, antique shops and thrift stores.  In 2011, he bought an embroidery machine and started applying his own fun, graphic style to a line of products, which he sells at shops and craft fairs around his adopted hometown of Portland, Oregon. Following this initial success of applying his designs to products, Phil is excited to offer his designs to a wide variety of manufacturers for licensing.

Learn more about Phil Marden and see his gallery of designs available for licensing at www.ParcaiDesigns.com.

Phil’s designs will also be on display in the Parcai Designs booth, #451, at Surtex 2015. Surtex is the most important show for the art and design business, and the only marketplace in North America dedicated to the sale and licensing of surface designs for products of all kinds. Surtex is held at the Javits Convention Center in New York City, May 17-19.
